Over de zorgverlener
Ik geef therapie / coaching aan jongeren en volwassenen die om psychische redenen ergens in vast lopen. Je kunt denken aan spanning, angsten, trauma-gerelateerde klachten, lichamelijke klachten, depressiviteit, verwerking van misbruik, ptsd, zingevingsvragen, onzekerheid, oververmoeidheid en schuldgevoelens. Ik probeer mijn hulp precies af te stemmen op wat jij nodig hebt.
De gesprekken die ik voer hebben een heel vrij karakter. Jij als cliënt bepaalt zelf in elke sessie het gespreksonderwerp, je bepaald ook zelf wanneer en hoe vaak je graag wilt afspreken.
Ik ben heel spaarzaam in het geven van uitleg, interpretaties, adviezen en oefeningen. Ik zal geen aannames maken of je confronteren. Ik faciliteer het proces zodat je ontdekkingen doet die helpend zijn voor de problemen waar je worstelt. Ik help je je aandacht te houden bij het onderwerp waar jij graag naar wilt kijken en help je om dat te doen op een vriendelijke, niet-sturende, accepterende en nieuwsgierige wijze. Ik maak hierbij gebruik van de methode Insight Focused neuroTherapy.
Met IFnT leer je te kijken naar je problemen met volle aandacht, op een vriendelijke manier, met liefde naar jezelf toe, zonder oordeel en met acceptatie. Veranderingen kunnen daardoor op een eenvoudige maar hele effectieve manier plaats vinden in je hersenen, wat direct invloed heeft op hoe je je voelt, denkt en gedraagt. Je krijgt nieuwe inzichten, ervaart minder stress en meer veerkracht. Traumatische gebeurtenissen verliezen hun grip op je. Overtuigingen die je altijd met je hebt meegedragen beginnen te transformeren. Je begint te ontdekken dat er niets mis is met je, maar dat het te maken heeft met wat er is gebeurd met je. Als therapeut faciliteer ik je in dit proces door je te helpen je aandacht te blijven richten op wat er naar voren komt ‘in het hier en nu’. Op deze wijze kunnen de juiste omstandigheden worden gecreëerd zodat je hersenen zichzelf kunnen gaan reorganiseren en blijvende veranderingen teweeg gebracht kunnen worden.
IFnT is een methode die zich baseert op de meest recente resultaten van neurowetenschappelijk onderzoek naar het vermogen van onze hersenen om zichzelf te veranderen en naar interpersoonlijke neurobiologie, d.w.z. naar hoe interacties en ervaringen met anderen hun weerslag vinden in het fysieke brein.
